History
This was the first banknote series to be printed on both the obverse and the reverse.
The obverse shows a cogwheel (fuang) design combined with a 12-pointed radiating pattern.
The reverse shows the Royal Ploughing Ceremony (Phra Ratchaphithi Phuetchamongkhon Charot Phra Nangkhan Raek Na Khwan), and for this reason the series is often called the "ploughing banknotes" ("ธนบัตรแบบไถนา").
There are 2 issues in 6 denominations: 1 baht, 5 baht, 10 baht, 20 baht, 100 baht and 1000 baht.
Printed by Thomas De La Rue & Company Limited, England.
Gradually issued for use from 1925 (B.E. 2468) in the reign of King Rama VI through to the reign of King Rama VII.
