King Prajadhipok’s Coronation Medal (Rama VII)
King Prajadhipok (Rama VII) graciously commanded that a coronation medal of the Seventh Reign be produced for his Coronation Ceremony in 1925 (B.E. 2468). It is a round medal made of gilt silver and silver.
The obverse bears the royal portrait of King Prajadhipok, with the inscription around the rim “พระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาประชาธิปกพระปกเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว” (His Majesty King Prajadhipok Pokklao).
The reverse bears the inscription “เสด็จเถลิงราชมไหสวรรยสมบัติบรมราชาภิเศก วันที่ ๒๕ กุมภาพันธ์ พระพุทธศักราช ๒๔๖๘” (Ascended the throne and was crowned on 25 February, Buddhist Era 2468 [1925]).
It is worn suspended from a ribbon of alternating yellow and green stripes, 3 centimeters wide, and pinned on the left breast of the garment.
